Since 2021, BC Métis Federation’s Conservation Department has been caring for coastlines across BC through their projects that actively engage community members.

The BC Métis Federation’s Aquatic Habitat Restoration Fund project contributes to strategic planning and studies in coastal areas throughout the province, Indigenous capacity building to enable education on habitat restoration and conservation and contribute to long term sustainability of aquatic and coastal habitats.

This funding Project is currently in its second year of a three-year agreement with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
