On January 18th, BCMF’s Conservation Department hosted a Beyond the Blue: Conservation Conference in Richmond. This was BCMF’s third annual conservation conference and was a groundbreaking event set to expand conservation efforts in transformative new ways. Beyond the Blue: Conservation Conference took conservation beyond the shoreline with dynamic discussions, innovative strategies, and collaborative efforts for ocean and environmental stewardship.
Beyond the Blue: Conservation Conference was an impactful day of conservation, beginning with a heartfelt welcome delivered by Councillor Morgan Guerin of the Musqueam Indian Band. The event was packed with inspiring guest speakers, an engaging, interactive workshop, and meaningful conversations about the future of conservation and sustainability. Beyond the Blue had a full conference room plus a bustling convention area featuring local businesses and impactful informational tables. The always-popular Sea Dome from Ocean Wise was also on-site and really brought the event to life.
