In 2023 the Canadian Federal Government launched one of Canada’s largest social programs to date, The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), to help make the cost of dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents. Since its launch, the program has been updated to include coverage for children under the age of 18.
Applications are now open for:
- Seniors aged 65 and over
- Children under the age of 18
- Adults with a valid federal Disability Tax Credit certificate for 2023
Eligibility
To qualify for the CDCP, you must meet all 4 of these requirements:

3. Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000
4. You’re a Canadian resident for tax purposes
