The Conservation Department of BC Métis Federation (BCMF) was proud to host their first Coastal Conference in October of 2023, a gathering dedicated to fostering awareness and action for the protection of our coastal ecosystems.
The event, held in Langley, BC, brought together 64 attendees as well as 14 guest speakers. Topics included aquatic conservation, eco lifestyle, paleontology and climatology, invasive species, and youth initiatives. Métis Elder Betty Fisher gave both opening and closing prayers, and the event was preceded by Conservation Department and BCMF member Jocelyn McIntosh.
