A key initiative taken by BCMF’s Conservation Department is the annual conservation conference, bringing together experts from across Canada to discuss pressing environmental issues. These conferences offer opportunities for exchanging research and innovative strategies, keeping members and the broader community informed.
The 2024 Conservation Conference was held in North Vancouver and featured a series of engaging sessions, including talks by distinguished speakers from various organizations, documentary screenings, and opportunities to connect with local vendors who share a mutual commitment to sustainability. The aim through these activities, was to inspire, educate, and foster a sense of responsibility towards these coastal environments, and the water ways that lead to them.
