The 2024 Generations of Wisdom Retreat brought together the Conservation team, along with Métis youth and elders from across the province. Participants spent the time exploring Tofino, and more importantly, exploring one another’s past.
There were deep conversations on growing up Métis, abandonment, racism, connection to their ancestry (or the lack thereof), the relationships with the land and water, where the conservation team feels they have done well , and where they can do better. On the last day of the retreat, the team stopped in at the Ucluelet Aquarium for a tour.
