**Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are now closed**
The British Columbia Métis Federation is honoured to support Métis students in pursuing educational opportunities at the post-secondary level. The Greg Mazur Student Scholarship Program provides financial awards to Métis students with full BCMF membership who are enrolled in post-secondary education. Scholarships of between $750-$1,500 are awarded to students who meet all eligibility requirements.
Greg Mazur
Greg Mazur was a long-time champion of the Métis who was committed to expanding educational and employment opportunities for Métis in BC. After his passing in 2023, the BC Métis Federation named its scholarship program in his honour.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to be considered for a scholarship, applicants must be:
- Full BCMF members
- Permanent residents of British Columbia
- Registered at a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution in Canada
Application Checklist
Applications must be submitted using the online form below. As part of the application, the following documentation must be uploaded:
- BCMF Membership ID – Your BC Métis Federation member card with photo and signature
- Transcript from Previous Year – Your grades from your most recently completed academic year (high school, previous year of post-secondary, etc.)
- Proof of registration/enrolment –Provided by the post-secondary institution you plan to attend
- Personal letter – A personal letter explaining why you feel you deserve this scholarship
- Letter of Recommendation – A letter of reference from someone who is willing to recommend that you receive this scholarship
Applicants can only submit one application for each academic year. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

- Decisions are made on a first come first served basis
- Funding is limited, not all applicants may be awarded a scholarship
