Moccasin Workshop Wraps Up in Fort St. John

Throughout the month of June, the BC Métis Federation and the Peace Region Métis Community Association (PRMCA) hosted a four-part Moccasin Workshop led by artist Linda Van Weirigan.

Held every Tuesday evening, the workshop brought together participants to learn traditional skills and handcraft their own pair of moccasins in a warm, community-focused setting. Over the course of the month, attendees stitched, shared stories, and connected over culture and creativity.

All materials were provided, and each session included light refreshments and plenty of encouragement. A big thank you to everyone who joined this workshop and to Linda for sharing her time, skill, and knowledge with the group.
