Vancouver, British Columbia, January 23, 2023 —The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) is pleased to announce that Taylor McLeod will be taking on the role of Director of Industry Engagement. Taylor will be taking over from Greg Mazur, who passed away suddenly just before Christmas.

Taylor McLeod

For the last several years, Taylor has been a key member of the BCMF Industry Engagement team. In her prior role as Industry Engagement Negotiator, Taylor was instrumental in securing millions of dollars worth of procurement contracts for Métis-owned businesses and creating opportunities for hundreds of Métis workers to find employment across the province.

“No one is more qualified to take on this position than Taylor,” said BCMF President Keith Henry. “She has big shoes to fill but we are confident that Taylor’s dedication to creating economic opportunities for Métis will see the Industry Engagement Team’s successes continue for years to come. I do not doubt that her work would make Greg proud.”

Taylor will continue consultation with regulatory bodies and fulfill the role of negotiator for procurement contracts. She will also now assume leadership of the Industry Engagement team. The rest of the team remains unchanged, with Karen Andrews continuing as Industry Employment Coordinator and Brad Giroux maintaining his position as Industry Engagement Coordinator.
