BCMF Coastal Water Protectors “Sweep the Shores” at Crescent Beach

The sun was shining last Saturday at Crescent Beach in Surrey, where Coastal Water Protectors and participants met for the “Sweeping the Shores” shoreline cleanup event.

BCMF’s Coastal Conservation department regularly organizes events to collect trash and debris from the shores in British Columbia as part of their efforts to protect coastal waters and contribute to environmental stewardship efforts in the province.

At Crescent Beach, trash grabbers, biodegradable gloves and bags were provided for all to safely collect trash. Volunteers were treated to refreshments from sponsors Sunflower Café and Hoochy Booch. Kristi Gordon, Senior Meteorologist at Global News, also came out to help.
