Vancouver, British Columbia, July 2, 2024 — The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) announced today that the Greg Mazur Student Scholarship Program has reopened for 2024-25 academic year applications.
The student scholarship program, named in memory of Greg Mazur, a long-time champion of the Métis, provides up to $1,500 in scholarships to eligible Métis students pursuing educational opportunities at the post-secondary level. Last year, the program supported the education journeys of 23 Métis students.
“Greg’s passing left a deep loss in our community,” said Keith Henry, BCMF President. “We’re proud to continue his legacy of steadfast support for the educational potential of Métis students. We congratulate all recipients from the previous intake and look forward to supporting more Métis students this year.”
To be eligible for the Greg Mazur Student Scholarship, applicants must be full BCMF members, permanent residents of British Columbia, and registered at a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution in Canada. To find out more about the Greg Mazur Student Scholarship Program and how to apply, visit its program page on the BCMF website.
