Métis Culture Celebrated Once Again in Terrace

(Terrace, BC) – BC Métis Federation and the Skeena River Métis Community Association, one of the partner communities of the BC Métis Federation, once again RE celebrating the success of their 3RD Annual Métis Music Festival that was held over the weekend at Thornhill Community Hall in Terrace, British Columbia.

BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry stated; “Thank you to the SRMCA leadership, volunteers, and performers for the collective work this weekend! There were a number of excellent performers including Country Calibre, Borderline, Country and Stuff, Skeena North, Blackwater Express, Just for Fun, The Other Guys, Mud River, Mustang Heart, and Métis fiddler and BC Métis Federation Vice President Rene Therrien. Thank you to SRMCA President Elizabeth Pearce and others for their team work to ensure a successful event.”

BC Métis Federation President Keith Henry added; “Thank you to the several sponsors including TransCanada, Superior Linen, CJFW FM Radio, SpeeDee, Rio Tinto Alcan, Sight and Sound and several others. BC Métis Federation is proud to sponsor and contribute to the event as we have each year for the past three years. This annual cultural sponsorship enables our leadership to work with many communities including Terrace to support Métis culture.”

BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded; “The event was successful and there were visitors from the United States, Alberta and many from British Columbia. There was a new Métis dance activity as part of the weekend’s festivities and overall it was such fun to attend. Thank you from the BC Métis Federation leadership.”
