Vancouver, British Columbia, June 27, 2024 — The BC Métis Federation (BCMF) will host its 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Board of Directors election on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Parkside Hotel and Spa located at 810 Humboldt Street in Victoria, British Columbia. A Métis Kitchen Party celebration will run from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm after the AGM closes.
The Draft Agenda for the AGM includes a review of the 2023-24 Annual Report and financial statements as well as information on progress towards the 2024-25 Action Plan. Updates will also be provided on priority initiatives such as BCMF’s civil claim against the federal government, the BC Human Rights Complaint, the Emergency Assistance Program, the cultural centre project, and others.
Nine Director positions on BCMF’s board are up for election. More information on the nominations and election process will be released soon. Members in attendance will also be voting on a Special Resolution to change the term for BCMF Directors from two to four years.
All BCMF members are welcome to attend in person. Both lunch and dinner will be provided as well as snacks and refreshments during breaks. More information on the AGM can be found in the events section of the BCMF website.
