Daily life can be stressful, but not all stress is necessarily bad. As part of its Fall Online Series, the BC Métis Federation hosted a Zoom discussion on wellness and how to live with the stressors of daily life.
In many communities and cultures, wellness is about being in balance and harmony. Wellness focuses on strengths rather than deficits or weaknesses and emphasizes being in connection with family, community and nature.
This stress management discussion looked at the whole person and the interconnectedness of each aspect of the self. It covered stress, stress management, and how to create good coping and management skills around stress. Resources, both in the community and online, were shared. No one is immune to stress, but it’s important to learn the tips and tricks that make it a less overwhelming factor in our lives.
