(Prince George, BC) BC Métis Federation increased support in Prince George this weekend by working with one of the local Métis community partner organizations Peyak Li Moond Métis Society (Peyak) to support their 4th Roots Music Festival. This music festival began in 2015 and BC Métis Federation has been an ongoing partner
to support the annual celebration of music, including Métis fiddling, hosted by Peyak.
BC Metis Federation has continued to support Métis culture through these summer music festivals and was in Terrace recently supporting the Skeena Valley Music Festival.
BC Métis Federation President Henry stated, “This was another excellent and I am so proud of the leadership from Peyak. The community in Prince George faces ongoing forest fire smoke and fire impacts ye the festival carried forward successfully with hundreds over the weekend.”
BC Métis Federation President Henry concluded, “Our board was happy to increase our financial contribution for this event. We put support for Métis culture first and we stand proudly with Peyak and our members from Prince George. Thank you to all involved!”
