Government of Canada Approves New Michif Language Project

The BC Métis Federation is pleased to announce that the Government of Canada, through Heritage Canada, approved the BC Métis Federation Michif Language project.

This is excellent news and details of project implementation will be released in the near future. The project will focus on key workshops in Surrey and Williams Lake plus other initiatives.

This is another sign of BC Métis Federation and Government of Canada’s evolving relationship.

Dear Mr. Henry,

I would like to inform you that a contribution in the amount of $32,320 has been approved for your project entitled” Michif Language Legacy” under the the Aboriginal Languages Inititative programming element of the Aboriginal Peoples’ Program.

Enclosed are two (2) copies of the Contribution Agreement which outline the conditions attached to the contribution. Both  copies of the Agreement must be signed and returned to:

A signed copy of the Agreement will then be sent to you. Please note that any payment arrangement is subject to the appropriation of funds by Parliament and to the budget levels of the Program.
